The IEU is committed to assisting every eligible member to achieve Experienced Teacher accreditation.

Teachers who are on Salary Band 2 must complete the Experienced Teacher accreditation process with ISTAA to be able to move to Salary Band 3.

During the last 10 years the Union has been highly successful in assisting a significant number of members to achieve the Experienced Teacher level (Salary Band 3).

The IEU is able to help teachers to understand the process and assist them with the preparation of evidence and documentation. School based workshops are available with follow up sessions for groups or individuals as required.

Eligibility

Teachers entering the teaching profession in NSW after 1 October 2004 (New Scheme Teachers). Accreditation at the level of Professional Competence. Completion of the equivalent of at least five years on Band 2 by the end of 2018.

Teachers entering the teaching profession prior to 1 October 2004. Completion of the equivalent of at least seven years of teaching by the end of 2018.

Evidence collection period

Wednesday, 26 April 2017 to 4pm Friday, 7 September 2018

It is important to start this process as early as possible after the 26 April.
