IEU misgivings about NESA syllabus review

NESA has released a survey on the processes attached to syllabus development. This is a critical matter to IEU members.

The Union has misgivings that no formal consultation appears to have been scheduled with the IEU.

Of particular importance to the Union is the retention of current collaborative processes and the firm view that significant changes require a one year lead in period.

The profession, via current processes, has multiple levels of engagement with the development of the NSW curriculum.

The Union encourages members to take the survey and shield the NSW curriculum development processes.

Direct engagement with teachers (ie not exclusively online) is essential for meaningful curriculum development.
