A NSW Working With Children Check clearance is valid for five years. Due to COVID restrictions, persons requiring a clearance may be prevented from attending a Service NSW centre to finalise their renewal application.
As a result, the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG) has advised that Working With Children Check clearances due to expire between 27 September 2021 and 26 January 2022 have been extended for a further three months. People who are granted an extension will be advised by email and the system will be automatically updated.
Union members holding a NSW Working With Children Check clearance are reminded to ensure that all contact details are up to date with the OCG. This includes email contact details, which the OCG frequently uses as its method of communication.
