Term 2 for some in systemic schools ended with a well-received announcement that we would receive our 2.5% pay rise. And yes, it was paid in this week’s pay. A well-deserved decision and recognition for all the ongoing hard work and efforts throughout the last two terms.
I just hope that Term 3 brings some normality back into schools and we cannot be relaxed and keep doing all the cleaning of desks, hand sanitising and social distancing that we have become very accustomed to.
Sub branch meetings are coming up early this term and I encourage everyone to check the dates and Zoom into your meeting. It is a valuable way to keep up to date with the latest news and an opportunity to ask questions and to clarify any points that you would like to discuss.
I hope that everyone took the time to relax over the break and really enjoy doing all the things that you have been wanting to do. It was a good time to jump in the car and hopefully you were able to visit parts of the state that you had never visited before or perhaps you spent time with family and friends or just read those books that have been waiting to be read.
I wish everyone well as we return to school and hope that it will be a productive term for both students and staff.
